Hello - to my knowledge all the ALF DVDs are region 1 only. If you ever buy a new DVD player in the future I would highly suggest a "multi-region" DVD player - there seems to be a big push towards those right now (at least where I live).
Sorry that you are unable to view the DVDs on your player...
Yes, unfortunately it's not available on region 2 DVD's. This is very sad since I have several family members who would love to see the old ALFer again, but they can't, cause their english is usually not good enough and the set has no subtitles, which region 2 DVD's usually have. And many of them only have region 2 DVD's. We'll just have to wait for maybe Germany to distribute the ALF DVD sets.
My understanding that all computer DVD drives are "multi-region". Even if you are unable to play Region 1 DVD's on your home DVD player, they should play on your computer DVD drive.
Not really sure but me and my best friend love it!!!!!!
and we were still in nappies at the end of the era of ALF, so it must have had a lasting affect !!!!!
You shuld be able to modify your dvd-player to make it regionfree. I know for a fact that almost every dvd-player can be made regionfree. I did it with mine. If you search the net you should be able to find info about your dvd-player and how to make ite regionfree

I've heard that that can work sometimes!
Let me be the first to welcome you to the forums, Patte
Not absolutely certain, but I am pretty sure name of game was "Skleenball", and I cannot recall ALF ever describing how the game was played back on Melmac.
it is skleenball by the way...my mom is going deaf so we watch everything with subtitles and it is skleenball...and isnt skleenball where you toss the can of anchovies into the opponents laundry basket?....i have my dvds packed to go home to the states already that i cant take them out to do a double check....
Kyle (a girl not a guy....just to let you all know )
Thanks for confirming my information that correct name of the game is Skleenball. Reading your description still does not ring any bells in mind, but even if your description is not Skleenball, still sounds like a cool game that should get a name.
yes ALF really was my first word....i was sitting in the living room with my dad one day when i was about 1 year old and he was going through all the channels on tv trying to find something to watch....ALF caught my eye and when my dad changed the channel i started crying so he went back to it and i stopped....from that day on my parents bought me everything ALF they could find and recorded every episode and i watched it every chance i had....eventually ALF then became my first word....so i can personally say i am a life long fan minus the first year of my life when i didnt exactly know what tv was....

Wow, that is cool! Not many can put that on their resumé
