mames507,
Instead of the pony that ALF really wanted, Willie got ALF an Ant Farm which technically was lots of pets that ALF turned into crispy critters by mistakenly leaving the Farm in the window where the Ants were cooked by the Sun.
Imagine how funny this episode might have been, if Willie had actually gotten ALF the pony that he wanted.

All ALF fans should be able to answer this next question, but you will likely have to think for a minute to be sure you have the correct answer.
One of the many ways that ALF, as a Melmacian alien, differs from Earth humans is that he only has four (4), instead of five (5), fingers on each hand. Which human finger is missing from both of ALF's hands?

mames507,
Sorry, but thumb is not the correct answer, for ALF definitely required an opposing finger (thumb) for many of the things he is seen doing with his hands throughout his TV series and his TV movie. One down, four to go.
Hint: Looking at your hand, try this process of elimination to arrive at answer. ALF has this finger and the one next to it, and ALF has this finger and the one next to it. The remaining human finger is the one mssing from both of ALF's hands.

ALF has a thumb, he has a pointing finger, he has a middle finger and he has a little finger, so it has to be the other one he's missing, the ring finger. Am I right?

Hey everyone out there. I am a new member but a life long fan of alf (granted i am only 20). This question here is what finger is Alf missing. In the episode "weird science" Alf is making a phone call to brians teacher and he calls the operator to connect him. The operator points out that it is cheaper to use a directory but he then tells her that he has no thumbs. My question here is it really the thumb he is missing or did he just use that as an excuse to tell the operator, because it seems like he has one. Otherwise the answer is either the middle finger or the ring finger. Is there an episode where he actually says what finger he doesnt have?

Jeez, you're gone for a couple of minutes and all hell breaks loose. Reading the various posts, appears that ultimatley all five fingers were at some point chosen as the missing human finger from both of ALF's hands; however, "theolalfer" had the correct answer - MIDDLE FINGER.
Probably should have avoided this question, since the only know reference source is from the "ALFmeister" newsletter published way back in the late 1980's, but close observation of ALF in his TV appearances and inspection of licensed ALF plush toys also supports this answer.
Without any doubt, ALF has an opposing finger (the equivalent of human thumb). Many examples, but probably best is that he could not hold a beverage container without a thumb. ALF also has a finger next to his thumb which would be the equivalent of human index finger. On the other side of ALF's hand is small, end finger which would be the equivalent to human little finger and he has a finger next to small end finger which would be equivalent to human ring finger. Remaining human finger that is missing - Middle Finger.
"theolalfer", the next question is yours to ask.
