Maybe someone "important" (Paul Fusco) can find this forum and this topic.

Re: Is There Any Reason?
Of course Alf would be the unquestionable star. But the best way to lure a good cast is to make sure they all get good lines and funny characters to play so we don't get another pouty Max being a cancer on the set.
I think Alf should be open as an extra-terrestrial and not hiding. It would open up way more possibilities. They could even reference his old TV show like he was a real ET "actor" on the old show.
I think a potentially funny scenario would also be to have a character who looks completely human but is secretly another ET studying humanity's progress and trying to blend in. He'd be the one hiding who he really is this time. He would be the super advanced scientific ET. 1000's of years more advanced than Earthlings. With Alf's simplicity, they could be each others' antagonist. He would insult Alf's crudeness and Alf would make "nerdy brainiac" jokes about him. Of course Alf would be more likable. I see the human-like ET being more of a "Sheldon from Big Bang Theory" character. Not EXACTLY, just generally.
I don't know if I'm expressing my ideas clearly. It's funny in my head! One huge change they would have to make to even be considered is to go all out comedy. They'd have to leave behind the 80's style where sitcoms would try to have a heartfelt family message in every 4th episode. (think about all the "This week on a very special Blossom")That wouldn't work now. This is, again, why I think they'd need a writing style to rival the current CBS Monday night line up. They will have to evolve Alf enough to appeal to the 18-55 demographic. And especially men 18-55. Sitcoms have a hard time making it without that demographic.
It would take a balance of old Alf but contemporary style to even be considered by the networks. I love throwing around ideas though. I need to start another topic on memorabilia. Thanks for the discussion.

Re: Is There Any Reason?
twangle,
Paul Fusco has in fact visited this website and this forum (as I one time, when I sent my first letter to him, I gave him the link). He definitely liked how well ALF was being promoted by everyone here. So, it still could be possible that he visits the forum here and there...who knows...

Is there contact info for PF that you can share publicly? I'd love to form a more indepth vision and see if he shoots it down or has any thoughts. (or more likely not respond at all hehehe)Admin wrote:

Re: Is There Any Reason?
Yes I did. It was a fan letter and a letter about ALF being on iTunes. I did not ask for an autograph or to visit this site because I did not want to ask him for 4, 5 different things. I will send him a letter about all that in the future. Sadly, I have had no response even though I sent it exactly 6 weeks, two days ago.
