New Website Design!

Post by Admin »

Just wanted to give you all a heads up that a new template is being designed as we speak (by a professional of course...not by me this time).

Here's a sneak peak (it is an image and only part of the index page is there thus far - no menus, scrolling topics feature, etc. just yet).

It looks great Jeremiah. I especially like at the top of the page that you have different scenes of ALF. Overall, I like how the page looks.

White background with black type offers much better contrast. My tired, old eyes will now be able to easily read the text.

This future template is awesome! I really like it. It's good to see that ALF is actually involved with the site template. I was getting tired of the plain black background.

Same here! With my limited experience with HTML/etc. everything I create using a white background looks like something ALF would throw up after dinner. It'll also be easier for me to update the website this way and I can really get cruising on getting all the information (i.e. indepth episode guide) that I want online (since I won't have to do quite a bit of it by hand anymore).

The template is done! It can be viewed here:

This is still not a finished product. This is what I got from the designer and now I have to go through and "tweak" it myself (there are a few errors in content on it, like the wrong season 4 DVD picture) that I need to change as well.

I'll keep you all informed. It may take me a few weeks to do a "makeover" on the site but it should be well worth it.

Okay - more news. I tweaked the Index page and put it up as the main page for the website (the rest of the pages will come later of course). Please let me know how they show up on your computer/browser. In the meantime I'll get cracking on the rest of the pages.

It'll be updated - I am working on having a directory of images. For example:

http://www.alftv.net/images/sitcom/seasontwo/27 - that's only for one episode too!

I counted 52 pictures in the "pictures" section...I wouldn't call that "almost 0 images".

All in good time AK...

Admin,

Is there any possible way of getting scroll of latest Forum Topics appearing on website to auto update, so that it correlates with the actual, most current Forum topics?

Even if not, still like the idea of scrolling Forum Topics appearing on the website.

The scrolling topics feature that is on there at the moment is just a .gif image - I am currently adapting the old one for the new design.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT DESIGN, ADMIN!!! I'M IMPRESSED!!!

This is definitely WAAAAAAAAAY better than the old layout! However there is one suggestion that I would like to make (if it's possible): Can you move the page from the far left to the middle?

Once again, spectacular! :D Way to go, Admin!

Can't move it to the middle.

It is to the left to accomodate both of the popular screen resolutions - 800x600 and 1024x768. If I move it to the middle those using the 800x600 screen resolution will not see half the page.
