Alf different colours?

Post by XXBadMushroomXX »

Is it just me or is Alf's fur a different colour? Sometimes he's dark brown
And sometimes he's light brown and sometimes he's this orange color.

I think its just the lighting. The brownish/orange shade of his fur does that for some reason.

yeah, i think it just the lighting too.I've had trouble figuring out his fur color too. for that reason, even the people who did the cartoon and comics at trouble keeping his fur color consistent. in the cartoon it's more of a light brown and in the comics he's goes from dark brown to more or an orange color.

Here's a good example: Look at Ninjadragon5's ALF profile pic, then look at mine. His has much more lighting, and he looks more orange, as it is from the sitcom. As for mine, it's from Project: ALF which really didn't have much of any lighting, and ALF looks more brown.

Maybe Melmacians change fur color when they grow a new coat after shedding.
ALF: I had a cousin. Pretty Boy Shumway. If he didn't like your shoes...
[imitating gun sound] "ak-ak-ak-ak-ak."
Willie: He'd shoot a person because he didn't like his shoes?
ALF: No. He'd just point at you and go, "Ak-ak-ak-ak-ak."

HA! yeah, good example, in my profile pic is looks more orange, and in ALFreak's pic he looks dark brown and in ilovealf88's pic he looks light brown, but recent pics of him look a little different from him in the 80s, makes me wonder if they use a different puppet now.

That's something i've really been wondering about! Here's an example (2 in 1 thread) : look at the 80s ALF's nose holes in the sitcom; they are the same size and everything. Now look at more recent photos of him, like the ones in the logo above (the ALFtv one). If oyu look closely, his nose holes seem to be two different sizes!

Maybe they made a new puppet for Alfs hit talk show, because i'm sure by the time it was in production, the old ALF puppet had deteriorated quite a bit.

yeah, I did notice that, could just be an optical illusion of the eye, but one nostril does look a little bigger then the other. plus I notice the hair on his head is a little straighter and neater and not as messy looking as it did in the 80s. I would suspect, unless the puppet was kept in persistent condition, that the puppet would degrade after so many years of unuse, especially with the animatronic parts in alf's head.

Also notice how ALF looks a little different in front view pictures of him more recently. Above in the logo, his eyes seem to be more pushed down, where in yours, Ninjadragon5, his eyes are more up. I also noticed how neat his fur looks now; especially his eyebrows. The matting on his hands also seem to be more noticable in recent photos too. Really makes you wonder... how many ALFs are there :?:

I too have noticed that, but have no answer. Ask ALF question perhaps?

 amd if he goes in the dryer, his fur will get matted down (thanks to my ALF stuffed puppet for proving this).

Puppet...? What are you guys talking about?! ALF is real! As he got older his furr simply got more orange, like human hair turns grey.

Not to mention getting loose hairs out of Kate's hairdryer. :)
