Episode Guide Teaser

Post by Admin »

As the title states, this is a "teaser" thread. As all of you know, I am currently getting the site redesigned, but some of you may not know about the episode guide I have been working on little by little over the past couple years (it's going slow, due to limited time).

I bought a press kit from the ALF sitcom a while back, and had to start over on my episode guide. Reason being: the press kit had the ORIGINAL SYNOPSIS for each episode! In short, the synopsis that would appear in the TV guide! So these are the ones that are going on my website. The Dean Adams episode guide has been the "standard" for well over a decade...time to write a new chapter! Oh, and I also got some great info from the epguide.

Just to get you guys all excited (I hope), here are the first ten episodes.
ALF
SEASON ONE (1986-87)

1. Production #1001 - ALF (Pilot Episode) - 22 Sep 86
Willie Tanner (MAX WRIGHT), an amateur radio enthusiast, and his family's peaceful life in the suburbs is thrown out of whack when a bedraggled Alien Life Form (ALF) crashes into the roof of his garage and takes up residence. Their furry guest also has a sharp tongue and, in the opener, it's no easy trick to keep him out of sight of the neighbors, the Alien Task Force, and away from the family cat, Lucky.

Written By: Paul Fusco and Thad Mumford
Directed By: Peter Bonerz

Guest Cast: Larry Hankin (Burgler)

3. Production #1006 - "Looking for Lucky" - 6 Oct 86
When Lucky, the Tanner family's cat, disappears, everyone is sure ALF has eaten him, so to prove his innocence ALF searches for Lucky and winds up in the local dog pound.

Written By: Thad Mumford and Laurie Gelman
Directed By: Nancy Heydorn
I also plan to have pictures for each episode, links to quotes, guest stars, etc. So there will be more when it is completed.

Any suggestions as to what else could be included please let me know. I wanted to do a "user rating" for each episode, but that is WAY beyond my webmaster abilities...

Looks great, Jeremiah. It will be so much better than the current one once you're finished. I think we'll all appreciate it.

I will also be putting up a special page for the episode "Reflections" - the episode that was never completed/aired. I have an original script for it, and I can definitely see why they decided that they couldn't do it! According to Ben Hertzberg (aka Benji Gregory) when I had contact with him in late 2008:
After the initial run-through and a couple days of rehearsal, the production team deemed the script too technically difficult to complete the shoot.
I originally thought about putting a PDF of the script on the website, but then it wouldn't be "special" anymore...but I'll definitely have a detailed write-up when the time comes.

The episode guide looks great.

And I'm looking forward to reading about "Reflections". I am sorry it won't be a full PDF copy but I completely understand why you chose not to post it. Hope you'll share a good joke or two from it

I know, but it was a pretty big deal here on the forum when Jeremiah won that script off of Ebay.
