Anne Meara - script writer?

Post by ALFicionado »

I was pretty shocked seeing the credits roll for the season 4 episode Break Up to Make Up. Apparently, Anne Meara (Dorothy AKA grandma in the show) wrote this episode. I had no idea, never heard of it before. I wonder if she watched a bunch of episodes before writing this one or if she knew the characters well enough after being in the show for a couple of episodes? Interesting fact, nonetheless. I liked the episode quite a bit and after checking out her profile on IMDb I found out this was the only episode of ALF she wrote, pity.

I didn't know about that. But speaking of Anne Meara, I just saw her appear in an episode of my second* favorite sitcom, The King of Queens. I hadn't know until then that she and Jerry Stiller from KOQ were actually married, and that actor Ben Stiller was their son... Back to the topic: Anne Meara as script writer? Wow! :)

*Guess which one is the first. :)
