Talking ALF doll

Post by ALF »

Hi guys,

I just recieved a 1986 Coleco Talking ALF in the mail, and it was a little bit dirty. So I decided to temporarily remove the voice box, and wash it (using the washing machine, and then drying it). Well, it had never been washed before and, it came out looking like a curly ALF which made me really really mad! I rinsed him again, and waited until he was dry, which made barely any difference. I got some advice and brushed him, which made him a little better. But it still wasn't the ALF I got in the mail! His fur was more straight, but now he has an extra layer of curly little hairs on top of his fur! Any advice on how to restore him back to his original condition?

Thanks!

No guarantees, but might help if you use a fine-tooth comb to give the old "ALFer" a comb-out which should remove alot of the fuzz. Similar to curry-combing a horse.

Good Luck,

Hello everyobody! I have a question, there's a sweish auction site, where I just saw the coolest thing: A talking ALF doll!! Those are IMPOSSIBLE to get here in Sweden. It's the 15th anniversary one I think. The only problem is, it costs 500 kronor, in dollars that comes to about 70 dollars! Is it just me or is that very expensive?

AxelFoley,

Unaware of any "offical" Talking ALF ever sold here in U.S. that was related to the 15th anniversary, so unable to provide any guidance as to possible value. Personally, only Talking ALF that I would consider worth $50.00 or more (not including shipping) is the original "Storytelling ALF" in excellent condition with all three cassette tapes and retail box in good condition.

Suggest you communicate with seller to verify that Talking ALF for sale is trademarked by Alien Productions. Then search U.S. eBay site for similar item to estimate value range, adding on the considerable additional cost that would be incurred for overseas shipment.

Unfortunate that you, and all other foreign ALF fans, do not have same reasonalbe cost access to ALF collectibles as is available here in the U.S.

It looks pretty legit, and I think I've seen it before on some online store.

Actually, here's a link to it: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-RARE-ALF-Talkin ... dZViewItem

The price is as you can see, 30 dollars so I guess the doll I have access to is pretty expensive. Still want it though.

Well that ALF doll I wanted went up in price and ended up at about 110 dollars, I lost because my friend who was supposed to put a bid in the last minute was not available at the time (I did not have Internet back then).

However I got my sweet revenge when I won the 1986 Talking ALF Coleco doll över the same guy that won the other talking ALF doll. I got this one for about 60 dollars, and it was totally new! With the original box too. My absolute favorite collectible next to my autographs.

Congratulations! I might have to buy another ALF doll sooner or later, as the one I have is not in the best condition. (I bought mine off of craigslist.)
