I came across this photo on the internet the other day. I found it fascinating, because I have never ever seen the actual costume of ALF except in footage from the actual show. I have seen the puppet being removed in an outtake, but this is the actual wearable costume, with actor Michu Meszaros either putting it on or taking it off.

Wow that is cool all this time i had been watchign teh show and didnt even know there was such a thing i had alwys thought it was done via roits or something kind of liek they do soe of the muppets.....Guess i was wrong. Lol oh well still cool none the elss.
