Star Trek - which series?

Post by Admin »

I know most of you probably aren't Star Trek fans, but for those of you that are which series do you prefer?

I love Star Trek and especially like The Next Generation, Deep Space 9, and Voyager...I never really got into The Original Series or Enterprise.

So, which one is your favorite?

...and the nominees are:

The Original Series

The Animated Series

The Next Generation

Deep Space 9

Voyager

Enterprise

TOS.

I like the original series best, with certain episode of TNG as close seconds. Really, after "Next Gen" I stopped watching.

Oh yeah! This is a thread for me! :D I recently became a Star Trek fan, nd the show that I prefer is TOS. Jeremiah, you've GOT TO give it a chance! It's a wonderful show, and the movies with the original crew rocks as well! Much better than TNG and the other shows.

TNG is pretty good too, but can't compare that to Kirk & Spock! ;)

You own the TOS episodes on DVD but you haven't watched them all? Or was it simply that you just never got into them?

OK, I see. I've never seen Enterprise or DS9, only a little of Voyager and pretty much of TNG. I like TNG but everything pales in comparison to TOS IMO. I just love the original crew so much.

It seems like as TNG went on they rarely left the ship.

You know I've thought about the same thing... Anyways, today I'm going to watch an episode of TNG that I recorded this morning but was too tired to see; The episode where Picard meets Spock!!! I'm really looking forward to it, never seen it before and Spock is my favorite character along with Kirk and Bones :P

TOS hands down. I love all of them though. Voyager is probably my least favorite. But I still like it. It took DS9 a few years to get me hooked. Now I love it and TNG equally in different ways. I think I am also one of the 10 people who like Enterprise when it was originally on the air.

What? TOS is first in here. Can't belived. HA!

Well my voyager is the second so I'm not that sad :D
If this is a star trek forum I think TNG would get the most votes because in many forums that I visited he is the first, and TOS is usualy the last. It would been interest what Alf would say about his number 1 trek show.

Whoa, you're not a regular on any American Star Trek forums, are you? TOS is easily the biggest favorite in the US and always will be. It's only in Europe where TOS was not broadcasted as much until TNG hit the airwaves that TOS is not as big.

FYI, Voyager is the least liked show of them all, tied with Enterprise :P

Actually on the last poll on startrek.com Voyager came 2nd in the favorite series vote. TNG was no1, and TOS came 3rd with DS9 and ENT last.

Voyager does get trashed a lot on some forums, like trekBBS, making it seem like an unpopular show. It remains my favorite to this date, it got my vote on this poll and it remains my longest and most cherished fandom

79 cats a-Toasting, 78 cats a-Boiling, 77 cats a-Sizzling, 76 cats a-Poaching...

Really? That is odd, since it definitely gets more heat than any of the other shows pretty much everywhere, not including Enterprise. Also, DS9 usually comes third, it's even closing up to TNG on some polls lately.

TrekBBS is where I hang at, it's the most active Trek board on the net. Star Trek.com was a big mess the last time I checked it out and it really put me off from joining the forum.

I'm not on USA forums, only Europa so my results are from that, but TNG is on high place everywhere. I watched star trek on HRT ( Croatian National TV station) and they showed TOS also. By the way , HRT in the last 15 years put star trek so many times that SF fans in this region can be proud of them.
Yeah, Voyager and Enterprise are not so good in the results from the st fans, but that two shows are the best ones for me.
Ok, if we go foward I think we will get to the sensitive point, where on every star trek forum is the biggest and that is What ST show is the best. Ok, Admin stop us
