Thanks. I still have plans to little by little beef up certain parts of it.

If anybody has access to old tapes of the cartoons, that section of the Wiki could use some work. As far as I know, the complete collections are not available on DVD yet, just certain episodes. (but correct me if I'm wrong)

That is correct. Unfortunately, a lot of the cartoon episodes are not available on DVD :(

Just found out that I've officially been made an administrator of the ALF Wiki. So I've given it a new theme and tried to make it look cooler.

Please visit and help edit! And if you have any ideas on how to improve it, let me know.

Rhonda pic from TV series

Post by samstokes80 »

Hey everyone. Unfortunately, since the DVD releases of the TV series have cut out certain scenes from every episode, I do not have a picture of Rhonda as she appeared in the episode "Help Me, Rhonda." In the original episode, they show Skip and Rhonda on the ship, but in the DVD release you only hear their voices (for some strange reason). If anyone has this episode on tape, and has the means to capture a photo, could you please send one to me, or upload it directly to the ALF Wiki?

Thanks!

Comic Book - info for Wiki

Post by samstokes80 »

Just a quick note - if anyone has some of the ALF comics and would like to contribute summaries for the Wiki, do feel free. I am working on them, but it will take me some time as there are over 50 issues. Check the Wiki entry for ALF Comic 1 for the basic format that I'm using - http://alf.wikia.com/wiki/ALF_comic_1

ALF Wiki - help needed with episode cross-references

Post by samstokes80 »

Hey everyone,
I've been going back over the ALF Wiki and I would really like to go back and add episode cross-references when appropriate. This is a pretty big project so I was hoping to recruit a little help from the folks here at the forum.

Here is what I need:
When there is an entry for a subject that pertains to a certain episode in particular, there should be a parenthetical link to the episode page.

Here is an example:
Mount Rushmore is a U.S. national landmark in South Dakota. Kate dreams that ALF becomes president and has his face added to Mt. Rushmore (Episode: "Hail to the Chief").

So, normally the episode link will be at the end of a sentence in this exact format - with the spacing and punctuation placed as shown - to keep the Wiki consistent throughout. After you type that in, you will need to highlight the episode title (not including the quotes) and click the "Add Link" icon (which looks like a chain link) and create an internal link.

If you need any help, please ask. I appreciate any assistance with this! :D

i have always thought that some kind of family tree for ALF would be a great addition to the wiki or to this site.
although, some members of his family are mentioned in works over than the sitcom itself.

i.e
ALF says he has a cousin named icky in AHTS
ALFs mom is named flo in one of the magazines.

This would be fun! Of course, I think the information is a little limited. Bob and Flo appear as his parents on the cartoon, as do his brother Curtis and sister Augie. There are few instances when he mentions cousins and other family members. This would be a fun project, though, as there may be other information listed in the comics, etc.

I'll try to get something set up on the Wiki this week so we can started on it.
