ALFan,

Your question is rather vague. Are you asking, "Is there any recollection of possible city or geographical area, such as San Fernando Valley, where the home was located?"

Sorry for being vague. I was wondering if he had any recollection on what the site that he saw the house on was called.

ALFan,

My post was also trying to help you. The word "vague" is spelled v-a-g-u-e.

Nope. It's hard to find any information whatsoever on search engines.

Everyone knows where the real house as seen on Married With Children's exterior shots is. But why is the house seen on ALF such a mystery? :)

If Paul Fusco ever agrees to another interview in the future we need to remember to ask him about this.

That's funny, because we have a topic about the Bundy house at the Al Bundy/MWC forum and it's true. Some posters has even been outside the house.

The interview with Paul Fusco indicates it is in the Pacific Palisides neighborhood. Google Street View would be a good way to search.

I've done some checking and found a possible hit There is a lot of foliage covering the facade so it is very inconclusive.

Great idea using street map but couldnt see any similiarities for the address you gave, dont know how big this area is in the US but assume it would be very difficult to find, would be great to see pictures now though, keep searching everyone!

If I was the owner of the residence, I would use the show's cult status as a way to attract visitors. I would turn it in a bed and breakfast. :) However, the owners prefer keeping a low profile I guess. 8)

And, yeah it appears that house doesn't exist anymore. The newest imagery data from Google (dated 8/26/2012) is showing a new house in construction stage. If you wanna check it out in Google earth you will have to click View->Historical Imagery and move the slider to the left to "go back in time" to at least 4/26/2011. I'm sure it will also disappear from Street View when Google gets the new data. That's kinda sad.

UPDATE:

House has been sold on 4/12/13 for $5,688,500

dang, really too bad the house no longer exists. :( but it was a really old house anyway. but good to know it existed at one time and it really was in CA. also I noticed on the ALF wiki page it says the tanners lived in the San Fernando valley and that house is no where near there. XD
let's face it, I'm unforgettable!

You're welcome. I used to watch Alf when I was a kid back in early 90's in Poland. Now, 20 years later I live and work in the USA, and yesterday I felt the "urge" to see one episode. Well I got sucked into it again :) I'm currently watching season 1 episode 14  Lots of memories.

Anyway, I was watching one of the first episodes and started to wondering where is that house located. Quick Google search brought me here, where I've found Tedm's post about Pacific Palisades. The rest is history, over 10 hours of watching Alf and searching simultaneously google maps on the second monitor. The clues were:

- house is located near a road with sidewalk separated by road verge (strip of grass)
- terrain appears to be relatively flat
- dense tree canopy with some pretty old trees
- Tanner's house has a very steep roof slope (visible in Google's aerial 45' photos)
- green window frame and the door (and still was like that in 2012!)
- a hedge next to a house

Based on that, I was just picking streets that meets criteria (sidewalk, grass, terrain, trees) and going up and down looking for a steep roof and general "L" shaped house footprint. Fortunately there's not many houses with roof like that over there. I've found maybe a dozen buildings that meets majority of my criteria, before I've found the right one. Each time, a quick look in street view revealed the truth. Anyway, when I finally saw it I knew instantly, that was the one! Almost nothing have changed since the '80 over there. Sure the trees grew bigger, but house looked exactly the same!

Now... it kinda sucks it's not there anymore. I was a couple of months too late :x .
