Re: 'ALF' Movie Lands at Sony Animation With 'Smurfs' Produc

Here is a good read about someone's view of why ALF should remain a puppet. http://www.hollywood.com/news/Listen_ALF_Movie_Gordon_Shumway_Needs_to_Be_a_Puppet/36417833 I think he has a lot of good points. I know I will enjoy ALF: the movie as much as I enjoyed TED (albeit for completely different re...

Re: 'ALF' Movie Lands at Sony Animation With 'Smurfs' Produc

Jeremiah, I agree with a lot of what you had to say and feel we should all have the same optimism. I think everyone builds up what they want in their mind (including myself) and anything else is disappointing. The fact that Paul Fusco and Tom Patchett are involved gives me a lot of hope but I will p...

Re: 'ALF' Movie Lands at Sony Animation With 'Smurfs' Produc

I am happy to see how many sites are reporting this. However, the more articles I read, the more they make it sound like this will be following in the Smurfs footsteps and may have to give up hope of seeing the ALF puppet on the big screen. Here is the link to Entertainment Weekly's article: http://...

Re: 'ALF' Movie Lands at Sony Animation With 'Smurfs' Produc

This is actually not very welcome news to myself. Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely thrilled this movie is moving along and will watch it opening night. However, the mention of CGI and the involvement of the Smurfs producer kinda takes the wind out of my sails. I just get the feeling this is leani...

Re: ALF introduces ALF week on The Hub

Well, I'd have to say I enjoyed the new clips with ALF. Wasn't what I was hoping for, but any new material is welcome. I'm still looking into the possibility of moving over the content, but without a capture card or dvd recorder, it seems a little difficult. I didn't get the HD version of the channe...

Re: ALF introduces ALF week on The Hub

I have it on my DVR and have it recording the rest of the week, but not sure how to get it on my computer without a video capture card. I used to have a DVD stereo recorder but ended up selling it. Is there another way to export video from a DVR?

Re: ALF introduces ALF week on The Hub

I find myself a little disappointed after the first night. There were a few scenes with ALF but very short and were repeated throughout. I was really hoping for some kind of commentary or jokes laid out throughout. Anyway, it was still great to see new material and will look forward for the rest of ...

Re: Chevy Chase fans

I have always favored National Lampoon's Vacation and Christmas Vacation. Fletch was great and of course Caddyshack is a classic.

Re: How To Annoy an ALF Fan

I'm more annoyed when people say that ALF was a horrible show even for the 80's. Do they even remember the 80's? ALF might have had a pretty typical 80's family except for Willie being a little eccentric, but I believe the character was before it's time. You bring out a movie like Ted and everybody ...

Re: CGI ALF

I'm just not a fan of CGI for characters such as ALF. While I agree with the sentiment about it looking better for the whole body shots as I have never felt the man in a suit looked right, I just don't think I would accept it as the ALF I've known. I do believe it can be done well and would bring a ...

Re: ALF introduces ALF week on The Hub

Is it bad that I ordered a tv package just to have the Hub for this ALF week? Granted it's not a bad network for shows to begin with. I actually wanted to renegotiate my subscription anyhow as I was paying more than I should. So now I have all 4 nights set to record on my DVR. Just couldn't p...

Re: ALF mention in TED

I can't really remember. I think Ted was talking to John or someone else about the time he was on the Carson show. I just don't know what part of the movie that was.

Re: ALF mention in TED

I can't remember the actual quote, but I think Ted said that Ed McMahon thought he was ALF and kept whispering anti-semitic jokes. It was a hilarious movie and I loved hearing ALF's name dropped in it. I even pointed it out to a buddy of mine.

Re: Which ALF is Your Favorite?

I would definitely agree with TV show ALF. Even as a young child when the show was most popular, I just never really got into the animated series. While I enjoy listening and watching ALF in any form, I will always see him as this living, breathing being who belongs in the real world. It was that ve...

Re: ALF Movie: what merchandise are you looking forward to?

I completely agree that the Ghostbusters aren't the Ghostbusters without the original cast. I was kinda upset when rumors were swirling that Dan Aykroyd was considering recasting Peter Venkman. I would've refused to see that movie. However, I am starting to understand why a 3rd film might not be a g...
