Re: ALF Polaroid Photos!!!

These are great! I can't believe I missed this section. Unfortunately what I am doing right now is about all I know how to do on the internet. I'll have to find some other way to show off my creative juices!

1996 Newsletter

Hi folks-- I am looking for a 1996 B & W fan newsletter/fanzine that you could order online in 1996 for the tenth anniversary of ALF. It did not have many pages (about like an ExtraTerrestrial Times). This was printed on regular stock (not glossy) and had art from fans, a comic strip, etc. As fa...

Re: Why did you pick your name?

I chose ALFSince86 because I have been a fan of ALF since 1986 when he first aired in September. I was but 12-years-old then.

Re: If There was an ALF Movie

In Marvel Comic's ALF Annual #2 (1989) ALF ran into the Melmacian versions of a vampire in the story "Interview with a Hampire". So your idea has some basis in ALF history. By the way, that was a great story and I think ALF Annual 2 is the best of the three ALF annuals.

Re: Melmac in Star Walk iPad/iPhone app

When it comes to planets, it's always difficult to say if they are fictional or not. Maybe Melmac hasn't been discovered yet--by us. On the other hand, perhaps ALF is based on a true story. How do we know Paul Fusco hasn't been harboring an extra-terrestrial all these years that has been the inspira...

Re: #2: Strangers in the Night

This is an excellent episode. If I sat down, thought about it, and made a Top Ten List of the best ALF episodes, this would absolutely appear. Very creatively written and a thorough introduction of the Ochmoneks. It's hard to select what I like most about it, because so many of the scenes were outst...

Re: WTB: ALF Magazines and ALF Newsletters

I think they are talking about both. The magazines and then the Extraterrestrial Times newsletters. A note of caution to those buying on e-mail: make sure the magazines are in the conditions you are willing to buy. I bought a lot (i.e., group) of ALF items on eBay a few years back featuring some of ...

Re: What's NEW in your collection?

The last ALF item I collected was a month or so ago. It was a Wendy's toy based on "ALF Tales" and ALF, as Little Red Riding Hood, was standing on top of the wolf. It reminded me of some Bible verses about good overcoming evil, so I got it. Wish I could scan it. There were two others there...

Re: baby drive my car

Whoops. I had my doubts as I wrote it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they get kittens afterward and didn't ALF decide that he liked cats?

Re: baby drive my car

Thanks, Alex. Yeah, that makes the most sense to me. Willie and Kate would be getting older and busy raising Eric, Brian would be finishing high school/starting college. I imagine the pilot episode could be Lynn--who has been to college, got married, and is now on her honeymoon--and she lays it on h...

Re: You Guys Exist!

Welcome to the boards! Thanks for posting a comment on my "The ALF Episode That Made Me Lose Sleep" thread. It's funny now, but at the time I thought I was going to go crazy. As it turns out, the second season is easily my favorite. I look forward to reading more of your comments and the o...

Re: Production #1001 - A.L.F. (Pilot Episode) - 22 Sep 86

The thing that sticks out in my mind about the pilot episode is the scene when ALF and Brian come back from the kitchen and they both have beers in their hands. I'm not sure how this made it by the censors and I wonder if today it would have been TV-14. I mean, you have a six-year-old child with a b...

Re: baby drive my car

I liked this episodes and the beauty pageant one. There was somthing about the ALF-Lynn episodes. I really like the one where he makes the video for her. However, as I've gotten older, I've thought: "An alien from outer space expressing affinity for your daughter--that's more of a horror film t...

Re: If There was an ALF Movie

I think puppet ALF could work in a movie. That's who we've seen since 1986. They haven't done CGI Muppets, so I don't think they need to CGI ALF. Some things, IMO don't work CGI.

The Episode That Made Me Lose Sleep

As I previously stated, I was thirteen going into the second season of ALF. That year they promoted "the new ALF" and showed him in a white-button down shirt talking like Mr. Belvedere (for those who don't remember that reference--talking like a British butler). Well, I bought this commerc...

Re: ALF Convention 2011

Has this happened or is it going to happen? I found this when I was thinking of suggesting my own idea for a convention. My thoughts would be to plan for 2016. I realize that's awhile from now, but that's long enough to plan, get in touch with Paul Fusco and the cast members, etc. It would also be i...

Re: Looking For a Special (Or Such)

You are thinking of a commercial to promte the second season of ALF. In it, ALF and Willie spoofs Oliver North and his lawyer. The trial of Lt. Col. Oliver North had been going on all summer long (1987) so everyone knew about it. I was 13-years-old and glued to the TV for most of it. I don't know if...

Re: Come on admit it. No reason to be ashamed

The one where Willie and ALF are on a train and ALF says "I miss my planet" really chokes me up. My congenital heart condition has become more complicated with age and there are a lot of things I can't do anymore and things other people take for granted--like going out to a meal--I hope I ...

Re: If There was an ALF Movie

Wow! I almost mentioned the idea of a prequel about Gordon Shumway's life on Melmac--I had no idea that Paul Fusco was thinking along those lines. The comic book series certainly made a lot of use of Melmac and it would be interesting to see what transpired days before the big boom!
